MOFCOM SCHOLARSHIP

The MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program, established by China’s Ministry of Commerce, aims to cultivate high-level professionals and policymakers from developing countries. It supports master’s (2–3 years) and doctoral (3-year) degrees fully taught in English at 26 leading Chinese universities — including Peking, Tsinghua, Fudan, and Zhejiang Universities. The program strengthens educational and economic cooperation between China and partner nations by training future leaders in fields such as trade, economics, governance, technology, education, and health.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of a developing country (non-Chinese) under 45 years old.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (for master’s) or master’s degree (for PhD).
• Have at least 3 years of work experience.
• Be government officials, senior managers, or university/research professionals.
• Meet English-language proficiency (IELTS ? 6.0 / TOEFL ? 80).
• Be in good physical and mental health.

Scholarship Coverage

• Full tuition, teaching materials, and research fees
• Free on-campus accommodation
• Monthly stipend: 3000 RMB (Master’s) / 3500 RMB (PhD)
• Resettlement allowance: 3,000 RMB
• Medical insurance
• Round-trip international airfare (plus one annual home visit)

Application Process

1. Apply through the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office (ECCO) of the Chinese Embassy in your country.
2. Submit online via www.campuschina.org

3. Prepare required documents in English or Chinese, including:
   • MOFCOM-CSC application form
   • Diplomas & transcripts
   • Study plan or research proposal
   • Two recommendation letters
   • Physical exam form
   • English-proficiency proof
   • Non-criminal record
4. Submit your complete package (online + hard copy) to the ECCO.
5. Admission packages are sent by August; registration usually takes place in September.
