Peking University Scholarship

The Peking University (Overseas Students) Scholarship, established in 2012, supports outstanding international students who wish to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate studies at Peking University, one of China’s most prestigious institutions.

This program aims to encourage academic excellence and intercultural exchange by helping students focus on their studies without financial stress.

Scholarship Coverage

Full Scholarship:

• Tuition waiver
• Monthly living stipend
• Comprehensive medical insurance

Partial Scholarship:

• Tuition waiver only

Monthly Stipend:

• Undergraduate: CNY 2,000 per month
• Master’s: CNY 2,500 per month
• PhD: CNY 3,000 per month

Duration

• Undergraduate: 1 year
• Master’s: 2–3 years
• PhD: 4 years
• Direct PhD: 5 years

Scholarship holders must undergo an annual performance appraisal in April to continue receiving funding.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must:

• Hold an official admission offer from Peking University as a new international student.
• Not receive any other scholarship or financial aid.
• Be enrolled in a non-professional, non-joint, Chinese-taught program (English-taught and joint programs are not eligible).

Application Process

1. Visit the PKU Online Application System.
2. Click “Scholarship Application” ? “New Student.”
3. Complete and submit the online application form.
4. Submit the letter of appeal to the International Students Division of PKU (ISD-PKU) in person or by mail before the deadline.
5. The committee will review applications and publish the list of selected candidates.
