The Bachelor of Architecture Programme in Urban Regeneration and Design at Tsinghua University is designed to answer these questions. CURRICULUM

The interdisciplinary curriculum builds a strong foundation in design theory, urban studies, and technological applications. Through experiential and project-based learning, students develop both design and critical thinking skills.

The curriculum integrates progressive design research studios with theory and technology courses on urban space and intervention. It also provides flexibility for students to tailor their academic paths—applying knowledge and digital tools in projects of their own creation.

Students may choose to graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering after four years, or extend their studies by one additional year to earn the professional Bachelor of Architecture degree.

APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants must be foreign citizens in good health and of good character, holding academic qualifications equivalent to a Chinese high school diploma.
• Strong academic performance is required and should be demonstrated through:
  • Official transcripts (original and notarized in English or Chinese).
  • National or regional high school exam results.
  • International standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, A-Level, IB, etc.).
• Proof of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) is required for non-native speakers.
• Applicants must meet the eligibility conditions specified by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Online Application
   Apply via Tsinghua University’s Online Application System for International Undergraduate Applicants. Complete the application form, upload required documents, and pay the application fee.
2. Comprehensive Assessment
   • Evaluation: The Admissions Committee reviews all submitted applications.
   • Comprehensive Test: Qualified applicants are invited to a test; details are communicated individually.
3. Admission Decision
   Admission is based on a holistic assessment of academic records, language ability, supporting materials, and test results.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Chinese Government Scholarship (Type A)

Applicants may apply through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home country, typically between November and April each year. “Tsinghua University” must be listed as the first-choice institution on the application form.

Beijing Government Scholarship

Outstanding students can apply directly to Tsinghua University for the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students. Awards are available for first-year and continuing students, based on academic performance and university policies.
